Places to Eat in LA: Yoga-urt

My family and I do a thing called Sweet Sundays. Once a week, we go out and get dessert as a family. This 1) gives us a sweet fix (and it means we avoid eating sweets during the week) and 2) gives us time to relax as a family to review the past week, and plan for the new week.

Each week, a family member gets to choose a different place. This week, Charly chose Yoga-urt in Glendale, CA. Yoga-urt is located on a quaint little street tucked in a little neighborhood village, Kenneth Village. (They have another location in Echo Park, too!) We had never heard of it before, so we were excited to try something new.

Yoga-urt sets themselves apart from any other yogurt shop by their non-dairy, organic, vegan, gluten-free, and soy-free yogurt! Their blend is mixed from almonds and cashews to give it a delicious creamy taste! The portions are generous as well – they don’t skimp on ingredients or servings!

I tried the Peanut Butter Prana with vegan magic shell, my husband tried the pumpkin spice, and my kids all had chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. The Peanut Butter Prana was so incredibly rich, I couldn’t finish it! It tasted like they had blended a peanut butter cup and served it right there in my cup. All the flavors were so tasty, including their toppings. The limited amount of flavors change daily. Next time we visit, I may have to try a smoothie!

During COVID, they are adhering to a strict mask policy, and unfortunately no samples. But, I suggest going with a group (ahem…. like your family or kids) so you can taste a bit of a few different flavors! Everything looks so decadent, you wouldn’t believe that it is actually good for you. Have you been to Yoga-urt? If so, what is your favorite thing to order?
